Job Shadowing Day, Hong Kong
January 2008
This is the second year the Li & Fung Group participated in the Job Shadowing Program. Over 150 staff acted as workplace mentors and champions. Apart from Li & Fung Trading, Circle K, Toys R Us, and IDS who joined last year, staff from LF Trinity and Saint Honore also added the support to this project organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong. 177 Form 4 to Form 6 students spent one day with their mentors in the offices of Li & Fung Group. The project enables young people to discover the first-hand skills and to encourage them to take an early start in planning their careers for their future.

Bringing best practices and latest experience to the logistics and integrated distribution industry, the Foundation sponsored a series of Value-chain seminars which were co-organized by academic institutions, namely the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Singapore Management University and Shanghai JiaoTong University. The seminars were held in Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai on 16 August 2007, 17 August 2007 and 11 December 2007 respectively.
Two prominent keynote speakers were invited: Professor Hau Lee of Stanford University and Dr. Victor Fung. Over 500 participants attended the seminars, including the Li & Fung Group's customers, business associates, academics and industry representatives. Professor Hau Lee also held separate sessions for research students in the partner universities to share his latest researches.

Job Shadowing Day, Hong Kong

This is the first year the Li & Fung Group participated in the Job Shadowing Program. Over 100 staff from Li & Fung Trading, Circle K, Toy R Us, IDS participated in this project organized by an international NGO Junior Achievement Hong Kong. We hosted 108 students who were Form 6 students. The project enables young people to discover first-hand skills and to encourage them to take an early start in planning their careers for their future.

Value Chain Seminar, Bangkok, Thailand

The Foundation sponsored a Value Chain Seminar "Thailand - Capitalizing on China's Growing Economic Dominance" together with the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok on 14 December 2006. The speakers, Professor Hau Lee of Stanford University and Dr Victor Fung shared their knowledge, experience and insight with 600 participants. Professor Hau Lee also held separate sessions with students to share his latest researches.
