LF USA aims to support existing management of consumer product companies that have global brands. In particular, we focus on global brands that can be successfully launched in Asia through the marketing and retailing expertise of Li & Fung Group, and U.S. companies that can benefit from outsourcing production to Li & Fung (Trading).

We will consider early-stage investments as well as participate in later-stage expansion rounds, management buy-outs, or joint ventures. While we usually act as lead sponsor of a transaction, we also co-invest with other private equity firms in larger transactions. We can take minority or majority investment stakes.

Based on our expertise in global sourcing, wholesaling and retailing, we are focused on making investments in the following industries:

Michael Hsieh - Michael Hsieh is the President of LF USA Investments, Inc., and has 19 years of experience investing in cross-border private equity transactions for Li & Fung Ltd. He was formerly with R.H. Chappell Co., a San Francisco venture capital firm. Previously he worked at Merrill Lynch's Corporate Finance Division in New York City and at Sun Hung Kai Securities, a major Hong Kong brokerage firm. Mr. Hsieh obtained his B.A. degree from Harvard College and M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.

John Seung - Mr. Seung has held various positions within Li & Fung Group including Chief Information Officer of the Americas and Chief Operating Officer of the E-commerce division. Prior to joining Li & Fung Group, he co-founded Castling, a consulting firm focused on retail and supply chain management. Before starting Castling, he was a member of the Advanced Technology Group at Andersen Consulting (Accenture). Mr. Seung obtained his B.S.E. from University of Pennsylvania.
